“Where can I buy Serg’s Chocolates here in the U.S.?”
“Where can I buy Serg’s Chocolates here in the U.S.?”
Around 2014, I once chatted (messenger/phone) with a teen from California. She wasn’t "asking" for herself. She was calling for her grandparents.
She asked me one simple question: “Where can I buy Serg’s Chocolates here in the U.S.?”
Then she explained why.
Her grandparents are Filipino immigrants who started their family from scratch here in America. And in their home, there’s one story that never gets old—her grandpa’s favorite.
Back in the Philippines, when he was still courting her grandma, he showed up with Serg’s chocolate bars—three pieces. Not fancy. Not loud. Just sincere. In his mind, those three bars meant “I love you.”
And her grandma said yes—the sweetest yes—because it wasn’t just chocolate. It was an effort. It was an intention. It was a promise.
Now decades later, their granddaughter, She doesn't know about Serg's but wanted to find that same Serg’s again—not as a trend, not as a “throwback,” but as a gift with meaning. She wanted to place that memory back into her grandparents’ hands… to honor their journey, their sacrifices, and the love that built their family.
And I could feel it. The gratitude in her voice. The respect. The hope. At that moment, I would love to help, but don't have the chocolate mould to make at least 3 pieces of Serg's bar for her.
Reminding me (again): Serg’s never really disappeared. It was passed on.
Because even if the product was gone from shelves, the memories stayed alive—in families, in love stories, in family gatherings, special occasions, in old photos, and in the way people still talk about “Good Old Serg’s.”
That’s exactly why we created Serg's Stories.
A home where we can finally gather these moments—all in one place—so the next generation can read them, feel them, and understand why this brand mattered… and why it deserves to come back as part of our Filipino legacy.
